Because your body makes HA, it also makes an enzyme that hydrolyzes or dissolves it. At MGMD Aesthetics, we have this enzyme readily available in case of a bad outcome or complication. Although it is extremely rare that we would use it, it is important to have on hand and any place that does filler injections MUST have it in the office at all times.
Quality of results
We live in an exciting age of technology and HA fillers are no exception. We keep approximately 10 different HA fillers at all times due to their specific structural characteristics. We use a very firm, structural filler for cheek volume that allows us to actually use less filler to get the desired result. We would not want to use something firm and structural in the lips where we use a filler that is more squishy, flexible and “juicy” for nice lips. By the same logic we would not use either of those under the eye where we need a thinner, more subtle result.
Fillers last approximately 9-18 months. Although for the right filler in the right place on the right person could last 2-3 years. Brand names include the Restylane® and the Juvederm® family of products.

No, Botox is not the same as facial fillers. Botox is much more temporary than more long term options like fillers. Botox is also less expensive and you go less often. Fillers make your face appear more full and Botox makes features more firm. Both are injected just under your skin. Both are proven to be very safe.
